Yes,I think this kind of thing is probably a lifelong project for most people, taking it one day at a time. No one thing is a magic bullet solution.
LAAT spirits from Lisa at MMT might help.
Regular cleansing of negaivity from around us, which we can contribute to - not just others, can help.

Are you already using affirmations? There are plenty of books on this.
Affirmations
Affirmations can be another tool to help redirect our thought patterns. There are ins and outs to this. Affirming that 'I am tall' when you're not, for example, can be seen by our own subconscious as being deceptive with ourself and will most likely not be believed....and is not going to work, at least not for a fully grown adult. Whereas affirming in order to get a new thought process may well work. eg If I notice I'm feeling pessimistic in my thought pattern. Thinking 'I can't do this' can be replaced by repetition of a phrase like 'I really can do this'. That can help alter a thought pattern.
Unless you really can't. I think being realistic (but not pessimistic) is quite important.
A common tip for affirmations is to word them in the present tense, grammatically. So, don't say "I will feel confident". Say "I feel confident." Otherwise you're programming yourself for confidence in the future, never in the now.
Neurological/psychological research has shown that our brains/minds can't much tell the difference between the realistic visualisation of something and the actual experience of it. This is now well known in sports psychology. Now famous experiments showed that one group that only mentally, with enhanced visualisation, practiced their sport improved as much as the group that physically practiced it.
Also, the psychological self help technique of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy recognises that the internal body chemistry we all have changes according to our thought patterns. We can stop a 'negative' thought pattern immediately, once we notice it, and that stops the feedback loop of depression or stress, in which our body would otherwise release stress/depression chemicals, which supports more depressive/stressed thinking, which triggers more of the same chemicals etc.
There are books on CBT too.
I have to say I think our minds have far more aspects than what I just touched on. The Shadow Self is a whole other Thing. We're then encroaching on things like the hermetic reconcilation of polarity/opposing aspects/qualities too.
As I said above, there's not one, single magic bullet. Still, every little helps...hopefully.
