This recipe is quite delicious, and puts a spin on the traditional holiday turkey.

1 turkey, up to 20 pounds
1 fifth red wine, any type, the sweeter, the better
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 stick of margarine
salt, pepper, oregano, and other spices to taste

Pull out the stuffing from inside the bird and wash well
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. This is what you will cook the bird on as well.
Put the bird in aluminum foil or a turkey bag to bake.
heat all the ingredients on the stovetop until they are blended and the margaring is melted.
Pour most of the solution into the turkey, but reserve enough to pour on the top of the turkey.
Seal the turkey up in the bag or foil and put into the oven to bake, being careful to pull it out at regular intervals to baste in the juices.

When cooked well done, cut up, and serve. Tastes great when warm. The meat will literally fall off the bones when it is done. ::party::

Mmmmm, Cool recipe, huffette,
Can I use butter instead of Margarine?
Another question, would this recipe work well on chickens? Because, I am not really a turkey person ::no::

It is wonderful, and so moist, as the sauce replaces the grease in the bird. It is even good as seconds and leftovers, if you manage to save some. Also, the meat literally falls off the bones when it is done, so there is nothing left on the bones.
