who said the good and the bad dont work together? i think that was humans..... i wont go into that. they all do their part. depending on what religion u wanna go by angels share dna with demons if not more. so both are from the divine?

I don't recall if I've contributed to this thread before and not commenting on any specific post here. Every now and then, however, I like to remind everyone of the original concept of 'demon' which is best taken from Britannica because I'm too tired to word it better right now:

The term demon is derived from the Greek word daimōn, which means a “supernatural being” or “spirit.” Though it has commonly been associated with an evil or malevolent spirit, the term originally meant a spiritual being that influenced a person's character.

Nowadays, we have a few different, common references to 'demon' that are meant.
Its original meaning, being something of a tutelary spirit/entity (guardian/patron) of a person, place or thing.
Its meaning in (cross-cultural actually) religious context of a malevolent being.
And from that second one, the demonization of various immortals, minor gods, entities throughout the universe given their darker/more dualistic nature.

And so,
the demon discussion is kept ever interesting, ever complex, confusing for some.

Demons have been the most effective spirit I've ever worked with to date. I'm so glad black arts isn't a taboo on this forum anymore.

Even dragons have nothing on them. Djinn are the closest in efficiency I can think of.

I would like to add a quick note for newbies that are reading up on demons, that this is the Dark Arts (DA) board, and even in other boards when 'demons' are mentioned, most of the time they are in the 'DA' category. Especially when you hear them saying things like 'my demon is nice to me, they care for me, etc'. Immediately you should know that they are NOT talking about BA demons.

Humans are 'DA'. They have the ability to do nice, or do evil. This is called duality. Your human friend in real life is also 'DA'. They are nice to you, but can also have the choice to be mean to you. Demons who are 'DA' are also as such. DA demons can be and are nice and caring to their keepers, because they are custom conjured, and or they have a connection to their keeper and wants good for them.

Do not ever, ever confuse BA demons with DA demons. They are called BA and hence, act as they are. A BA demon doesn't care what turns out good for you. They only want good for themselves, and on THEIR terms.

If you're looking to work with and/or bond with a demon, do your research properly and make sure you're actually getting one that's not BA (unless you ARE actually looking to get a BA demon, which I'll assume you're not a newbie and thus, able to make sound decisions in your journey.) A 'DA' demon can range from light DA to even borderline BA.

Keeping DA spirit(s)/demons is a responsibility to yourself and to the people around you.
1. You should already have protection for yourself and your house rules are set in place.
2. You must be able to enforce your own house rules.
3. Have proper control over your emotions and how you react to it (especially negative emotions).
4. Can rationalize your decisions, not easily being influenced by others, and have a firm stance on your moral beliefs.

so CH daemons align with the greek meaning more. at least that is how i am reading it. not just guides and friends and protectors but will represent you to immortals courts.

as far as demons. i dont know. wont pretend to know. i use to think succubus arent demons but i guess they are. same with hellhounds. doesnt change my opinion of them. love them.
