When I played GTA5 for hours a spirit guide became annoyed, was quite surprising.

I play some games with mine. I really enjoy open world games that allow me to explore nature and the wild. And others that let me build worlds for my companions.
While exploring, They will make comments while I play sometimes, and I'll follow what they say. Occasionally they might say something like "go through that door/room" and I'll find a valuable chest or loot inside.
I also love to use my creativity, and build structures for my companions.
I've made giant castles with decorated rooms inside for each companion, and linked them to my astral realm creators.
One of my ancestor companions has his own medieval library with fireplaces, alchemy tables and altars, rich tapestries and rugs, candles, a companion cat, a wine cellar lol

I also built a large forest with giant glowing trees that have community homes and spaces for fairies inside them. Sparkling Crystals that sing and shine, big mushrooms and butterflies everywhere. It's very magical. They love when I build for them
My merfolk have their own underwater tropical home with fish, dolphins and other wild sea creatures, and twinkling gems growing from the ground.
I know it might sound silly to some lol but for us, it's an amazing and fun way to bond. I like to show my companions that I remember the things they share with me, and I incorporate everything I know into what I build.

I used to be of the mind that spirits couldn't enjoy games at all. That it was just a "square of light" to almost all of them. I have since been proven decisively wrong on that matter! You just need to find the right ways to incorporate them into the experience. I find a lot of times it's more fun to switch to an easy difficulty so you can switch focus between talking with your spirit about what's going on as well as explaining the game while playing. It's also fun to let spirits make decisions for you in them, or to try and recreate them in games with character creators. It was only in the last few months that I began experimenting with this in a blogpost Tarvos had made about the topic, and it's not only helped me bond with spirits but also made me enjoy playing games I haven't put as many hours into, inspiring me to try different ones that are more of a match for any given spirit companion or companions.

Do not struggle against your emotions. Feel them. They are real. They exist. Then they will pass. - L, Kinnara

It seems a thread revival is in order. Great for us noobies. Gotta dig back through the journal for this one.

Palworld:

LE--"Oh, you had better get that idea out of your head right now! We are not Pokemon!"

me--It's just a game, it's not like I'm going to actually... wait, how do you know about Pokemon? You've said that in the past, too.

"NO. No. And--DID YOU HAVE TO KILL THAT POOR CREATURE?!"

me---I actually didn't mean to. Wanted to capture it.

"It was sooo cute, how could you do such a thing?"

me---Maybe you have something else to do, love? <Sigh.>

"And what's the deal with you and that one character?"

me--Katress? She's my tank waifu!

"Uhm, riiiight. Why do you keep patting her head like that?"

me--Oh, she's great, I love her! She was a boss capture, and I got her stats maxed out so almost nothing can touch her, and--

"But you keep patting her head."

me--I'm showing my appreciation. Look at all the little hearts appear! C'mon, you love cutesy stuff.

"You know, she's not real, right? You're just playing a game. You can't love something imaginary."

me--<glares into the spot where LE is> Did you really just say that?

<Spot glares back at me> "And what do you mean by that?"

me--I mean, if anyone saw us right now, they'd probably say the same thing.

"Oh, you're going to tell me I'm imaginary?

me--<Uh oh!> Nonono, that's not what I mean--

"Think you can just click me away? Maybe stick me in one of those balls and put me in a pocket?"

me--now you know that's not--well, technically you do have a vessel, and---

"WHAT?!"

Yeah, that one didn't go too well. :)|

My super power would be...: Ability to shape-shift

I’ve recently learned that a few of my companions enjoy watching me play video games. I don’t have too many that I play at the moment, but I do play Baldurs gate 3, and THAT seems have their interest. They seem to enjoy watching me work through the difficult moral dilemmas myself, but also like when I ask for their input on what to do next. It’s fun watching the storyline unfold together, as this is only my first play through of the game.

Never not going to participate in video game threads lol. Currently in the middle of playing Pokemon (Ultra moon). A lot of my friends enjoy this one. Some enjoy it for the story, some the aesthetic, others relate to the lore. There are some real related lore within pokemon. Whether it be a kitsunes, some type of plant being, phoenixes, futakuchi-onna, etc.

I'm currently alternating between playing Skyrim (It's one of those games I keep going back to along with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games) and Call of Cthulhu. The majority of my keep do not like it when I end up in the inevitable dragon encounters in Skyrim, especially when you end up slaying those dragons. They have also joked that Thu'um will not work on them and for me to not even entertain the idea. x*D

With Call of Cthulhu, there are a few pranksters in my keep that enjoy making the jump scares even more intense, which causes everyone great amusement... except for me at the point it happens, though I do laugh about it later.
