I've read you shouldn't keep spirits that are darker then yourself. How can i know how dark i'm?
One way is to compare it with DA spirits in your keep or that you conjure.
Another way is to ask conjurers whom you trust to do psychic reading etc. That's if they offer psychic reading : )

@ASH are the blemmyes only black arts because they don't fear humans? Apparently they lived near humans at one point. I also found out there's a Chinese variant I forgot it's name though.

I'm paraphrasing, so it'll not be as crystal clear as ASH says it, but a being or magic or energy is not classified as Black Arts by Creepy Hollows for something as simple as "indifference to humans". (Crocotta are described in the CH Encyclopedia as "a mortal enemy of humans" and they're classified as Dark Arts.)
Black Arts - as the term is used by CH - is for a being, magic or energy that is inherently malicious and wants to do nothing but harm. Just as White Arts can be nothing but benevolent, BA are unremittingly malevolent and cause havoc - even to their keeper & their family, friends etc.
But don't take my word for it - see what a real expert, ASH, has to say in that article.
Not the resident expert. Just another spirit keeper. Since 2017.
You must stay on the path. Do not leave it.
If you do, you'll never...
find it again.
No matter what may come, stay on...
the path! [Gandalf, in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug]
@Crossover93 as Alaric pointed out as an example, Crocotta not only do not fear humans, they don't like them. A Crocotta on its own may very well kill a human, to be honest--mine makes no qualms about hiding his potential.
However, they do have a moral code they uphold. When they give their word, they honor it to the last--which means never doing anything that would bring harm or such back to me because he has promised such. He can approach BA in this aspect, but he is still DA. His word is gold--and he'll give it for hugz.
Whereas BA, they don't care. They want what they want, and they will get it by any means they see fit. An exchange may be offered--something they want from you for them to do a task, but know that they may very take everything and give nothing back, or do the task just to have you suffer the repercussions for their actions in order to amuse themselves. To them, a promise is made to be manipulated and broken solely for their own enjoyment at the challenge to deceive. To get them to honor a contract requires means to force them, or a payment they desire so much they will have no choice but to fulfill their obligations.
A perfect example of a true BA being--Gollum! He was happy to swear and make any promises that were convenient to get what he wanted--but in the end, he got what he wanted, regardless of the repercussions on anyone, and that included himself. Remember, he had also sworn to protect the ring, but his final actions would destroy it and himself. He didn't care, as long as it meant he had it in the end--the epitome of BA thinking.
A wise Earthen Elemental Wolf Spirit once said to me,
"Why speak magick? Be magick!"
@Alaric I didn't read that post, it makes a ton of sense. And yeah I didn't know that to be another name for them. Yeah I'm not debating or here to debate professionals I think I was curious about them if that makes sense but it enough to have one lol. I also recall them being mentioned in history from different cultures.
