And that is what I want to talk about, is anyone familiar with this, what do you think it is? Maybe an ancient form of spirit keeping? It reminds me of the cult of the dead that had skulls of deceased loves ones as a sort of spirit vessel. I also love them since they are made of crystals. Well let me know what do you know and think of this mystery/legend of the crystal skulls?

The nearest I can get to validating crystal skull use is that, if you have a modern crafted skull-shaped crystal, yes, it can have its own intelligence. In fact any clear crystal can. (Or any gemstone.) And maybe the skull shape enhances the likelihood of being able to tune into its psychic nature, as if communing with a spirit.
I did see a very carefully researched documentary that, for me, proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the well known examples of allegedly ancient crystal skulls - either when tested or the paper trail of evidence is looked at carefully - were actually manufactured in modern times.
Skull use has a very honourable, ancient and prehistoric pedigree. It mainly tended to be a link with ancestors, I understand. (Or trophies of a defeated enemy.) If ancients were able to technologically shape and smooth clear crystal skulls to a good enough standard (not easy), I wouldn't be at all surprised if they would then use them for spirit communication. And maybe the spirit could form an attachment to the object.
I just don't think it's been proved that the examples we've seen are genuinely from ancient origins.

Yes I agree with Lewk and came to many of the same conclusions. The shape itself is able to act as a container of certain things, information, memories even.
I think it can also act as a sort of library.
I also wonder about its possible uses in creating homunculus.

and that again makes me think/trigger thoughts about talking heads from the midages and other times..

I watched 2:24 minutes of the video and decided to stop. I don’t feel like I’ll miss anything by skipping the rest. I used to have little interest in the paranormal, so all this legend was new to me. However, upon seeing a crystal skull, its significance became clear to me. Hehe. These skulls serve as energy sources and can be utilized in Spirit Keeping rituals or even without any spirit involvement. Many are likely artifacts passed down through generations and circulated globally due to trade. Unfortunately, this has led to a mix of genuine pieces with forgeries. As a result, examinations will probably yield varied outcomes due to this mixture of authenticity.
So I believe in the legend, though you could say I believe in it when I see a picture of one of the skulls. Lol. It's amusing that even those like the one in the British Museum is a replica. Lol. Humanity has long sought to leave its mark by carving into various mediums, from stone to crystal, across different cultures and eras. These sculpted artifacts have potential uses in divination, spirit communication, and rituals, among countless other purposes.
The choice of a skull shape stems from its natural fit within the human hand, contrasting sharply with an uninviting square or rectangular form. This design not only possesses an edgy aesthetic, but also evokes a haunting atmosphere that deters casual interaction due to fear. In cinematic portrayals, characters performing rituals typically elevate striking items for admiration. So, replacing a crystal skull with something as bland as a square rock would diminish both allure and style significantly.
Such items become too valuable to remain in the open market. They’ll likely be acquired by those who recognize their true worth. I'd willingly spend all my lunch money on a genuine piece if I saw just one photo of it. I expect it to cost at least $20k to $30k or even more. You will definitely encounter replicas in records, videos, or museums. Essentially, these skulls serve as magick tools rather than ancient Spirit Keeping devices. Asides from the crystal skulls, it’s likely that, in ancient practices, individuals used the human skulls of cherished ones as symbolic vessels. It's creepy, but this method allowed for intimate gestures like kissing a skull instead of kissing a mundane object like a quill pen. Lol. However, such customs are uncommon and could be seen as quite extreme today or even back in the day.
