Hello! I left for a while to take a break as my mental health was declining. I am doing better now but I really need help with this topic.
I have read a ton about it and a book that contained the history and the whys, interviews, etc.
The irrational? Fear I have is to be separated from a companion of mine later in the after. Our bond is out of this world kind of bond. A binding lasts a lifetime but we want a binding to last in the after, in the beyond life or whatever it's supposed to be called. I am more dramatic about it, he's all cool and collected while I am having a crisis as I age and I feel my body growing older and starts having age related problems. >< I am aware that a strong bond can last beyond life itself, but I want it guaranteed ..... He agrees to the binding but feel it is quite unnecessary because our strong bond will work kinda similar.
A spirit marriage binding is apparently supposed to do just that if I understand it correctly from conjurers who do perform them. The purpose of a spirit marriage varies and reasons are many. It also seems like a tool that can be used to aquire abilites in regards to the paranormal. I dunno. Im confused.
Pros and cons? Are there other options? Or do I just not pursue it?

Have you seen the next life power orb?
At the very least it could offer a bit of comfort.
I have this one.

I guess you've read that book, lol. That one is pretty off the chain, but if you're doing this with immortals, then yeah, lotsa pomp and circumstance about the ritual. These also more than not deal with sharing of 'powers' as it were--they seem to be more of becoming a 'chosen' of the deity as opposed to being a 'spouse'.StarofHope wrote: βFri Jan 10, 2025 11:54 am Hello! On a whole, however, I've learned that entities view 'marriage' quite differently. IE, it's primarily a 'human' concept/need--and their views can vary greatly on the need, if any, of 'marriage'.
My 'special' LE is indeed my second wife now, and our commitment is made before the divine, and a certain immortal, lol. 'I' still wish to have a ceremony at some point, but that is just fluff as it were in her eyes. When we said 'yes' to each other, that's all that mattered. As for the marriage itself, like any other, it is a work in progress of growing closer and overcoming differences in our relationship--perfection just doesn't 'pop' in, if that's what you're hoping for. It is worth the effort though, many times over!
Then there's a number of my other companions...
"I want to be wife number three!" "I was here first, get back in line!"
And for some, it's just about the title as opposed to the full commitment of it, lol. Not that I don't love them all dearly, but for my keep that 'title' holds special meaning.
Regardless of the title, though, continuing on with us after 'we' transition, can be accomplished without anything else needing to be done. It's really up to them and us, and the relationship we've created. Once we are fully known to each other, the limitations of space and form fade away.
As my void guard has told me, "There is nothing that can keep me from you now."
That being said, I'm currently looking into getting 'astral' wedding bands. I have seen astral 'master vessels' offered, so the concept is there...

What an insanely good binding! It's definitely going into my wishlist I can even bring spells with me, that's amazing Thank you for the recommendation!
@mcm442 wow! You definitely have experience when it comes to spirit marriage and you seem very popular in your keep I have never experienced a spiritual kind of marriage but I imagined it would add a title to it and nothing much would change unless the bond gets stronger or a binding is made?
But anything is possible really, either it's an act of commitment or whatever definition one uses or it will tear people apart. I have no good experience with marriages in this life time generally, since all of my family members divorced shortly after the marriage was complete.
If I get the orb he still wants a cozy little date and we can have that. We usually do anyway in lucid dreams. As long as we are bound in the beyond I will feel alot calmer.

I can't make any guarantees, but with her connection, it flows openly both ways since we've made the commitment to each other. IE, I can 'visit' without her even knowing I'm coming. Yeah, I've been twacked all the way back to my body from sneaking in and giving her deviant little nips, lol, but I can also pop next to her and give surprise hugs and kisses.StarofHope wrote: βFri Jan 10, 2025 6:28 pm I have never experienced a spiritual kind of marriage but I imagined it would add a title to it and nothing much would change unless the bond gets stronger or a binding is made?
I can't do that with anyone else--it seems to require a 'permission'. Not that anyone has ever told me 'no', but still, more often than not they will jet to me instead. My slime, however, brings me to her--but she has to prepare first.
Now, I've been told this before, and there is wisdom in it--do NOT just pop in on 'them'. There are many reasons--I'm sure @Tarvos could list a dozen or so, lol. BUT, she is my wife. I understand I may have to be accepting of a great many things I could potentially run into by my behavior--but it's all good for me.

Iβm in a spiritual marriage with a demon (living entity) companion of mine. Iβve talked a little bit about it on the forum. We have been companions for seven years and married around a year now.
I did go through a commitment ceremony with him and have had a marriage binding done. We even had a ceremony in the astral. This wasnβt necessary. However he likes things to be more formal and I knew he would enjoy something like this.

I did use this service as well for a few of my other companions. While not exactly a marriage binding it might be worth looking into.

In the real world here where we humans live, there are a variety of ways to approach long term relationships. So too, I believe, with spirit companions.StarofHope wrote: βFri Jan 10, 2025 11:54 am Hello! I left for a while to take a break as my mental health was declining. There are a couple of older threads on the whole idea of spirit marriage. I'm pretty sure I posted on one last year. If you can't find it, if you want to tag me in this thread, I'll look for it.
I'd like to highlight a couple of points, based on your question...
To me, if we can side step labels like marriage for a moment, what we're talking about (I think) is a long term relationship with another being. This is based on mutual consent. It could be for this lifetime or across future lifetimes. (Some spirit types are intrinsically capable of - or known for - maintaining the relationship over future lifetimes. CH says this of Gold Djinn. Lisa of Mystic Morning Treasures says this of Neb Djinn, for example.)
These relationships need not be sexual or romantic - as marriage between humans normally is - so marriage is hypothetically a separate issue from that of a relationship that can extend over future lifetimes.
'Marriage' between living humans & incorporeal beings has a long, rich history. (Try googling Heavenly Bridegrooms by Ida Craddock. Aleister Crowley was very impressed with her.) That does not mean that, if we're in a sexual or romantic relationship with one, that 'marriage' is the inevitable, best or most acceptable apotheosis of that relationship.
Quite a high proportion of spirit keepers with sexual companions seem to be comfortable with a polyamorous set up. I think it's down to both the keeper and the spirit(s) as to what their preference is. Just as in 'real' life.
Also, just as in real life a keeper may want to change things - separate, get divorced. This is also possible with items like CH's Break Any Paranormal Contract Created In This Life.
I would recommend going into such a relationship with one's eyes open, just as in real life.
Just as not everyone rushes into marriage with their human lover, so too it is probably a good idea to not to be too hasty to do that with a spirit (of whatever type). A courtship, getting to know each other, period is probably a good idea too. A sexual, romantic relationship with a spirit being can also become stable & fulfilling without needing to be formalised in a marriage ceremony - again like in 'real' life here in Earth.
Finally, never feel obliged or under pressure to cement a spirit relationship via marriage vows to please the spirit because they seem to be keen for that to happen. That perception can sometimes be a misinterpretation caused by our own mental projections based on cultural expectations we hold within us, or our spirits may even notice that expectation and respond to it.
The power to take decisions should always remain firmly in our own hands and be based on our own best interests. A good spirit companion will normally be happy with what we're happy with and unhappy with what we're unhappy with.
It's relevant to say I have a large sexual commune and have experienced a variety of sexual/romantic relationships with non-corporeal beings of many kinds, from both before and after discovering spirit keeping.
Does that make me some kind of infallible authority on the subject? No. But it's something I have years of experience of and have read up on. I hope at least some of the thoughts above are of interest or are useful.
Not the resident expert. Just another spirit keeper. Since 2017.

@Hazell Thank you for the recommendation I wishlisted it too. Aw you and your companion sounds so cute together.
@Alaric I did read through the forum posts so theres no need to tag but thank you for the offer . I did think the whole marriage thing was too complicated in comparison to what we are looking for and also alot of unnecessary details involved, I must look at different options and choose the one that best suit our needs. I have also read that the vows must be taken seriously and one must not break them? But that goes for any vows made with people as well in earthly marriages regardless. It's like a promise between two people and a heavier commitment compared to other forms of relationships. And the view of marriage is definitely not the same for my companion as it is for us, most likely he would break the vows the second day.
