I wouldn’t go into bringing in a demon as thinking of them as “evil.” I would feel differently if this was a malicious or black arts being, but for a dark arts being that is there to help it’s not beneficial for either person in that relationship. Biases and expectations can heavily affect our view of beings.

My experiences with dark arts demons have been positive. They’re not the type to go after revenge without reason and often there’s other methods that are better.

The most sound advice I can offer to you @Astraea Selene, and even to anyone and everyone, is to consult your keep, your spirit guides, and immortals you work with. They know you best, can see your true self within and help with so much more than what we as outsiders can see with our limited perspective and personal bias, not to mention each of us are all on our own individual path in this paranormal journey. I am a being of duality and practice that in my life, but that doesn’t mean that everyone else is like me. I may have had good experiences with demons, but that doesn’t disqualify what bad experiences others may have went through.

Listen to your heart, what your guides tell you, and follow your own path with unwavering resolve and unyielding faith

I am up early this morning and surprisingly well rested. I came back here to express my gratitude to you all. .

I am very happy for my decision, I am clearly not ready to keep a demon. I am thankful for you to snap me out of my wrong ideals @Tarvos & @Adair Lasair Bán.

I am so greatful for our conversation, went on so helpful, yesterday, I am truly very thankful for everyone .

I have realised since then, my conciousness was screaming at me, but all I heard was search for knowledge ... as my usual way to fight with myself ... logic versus intuition. That is why I end up reading for hours this thread.

Everyone here, YOU ARE ALL ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I am so happy for this forum run by Ash & Mag such long time. Truly amazing.

I would love to provide more context on this matter, but the discussions that Astraea and I have had regarding demon keeping in Adair’s thread and throughout the member blogs over the years are the primary reasons both Adair and I oppose this idea for her. Unfortunately, I cannot delve into those conversations here, as they are located in a different section of the forum, and sharing them would violate the forum's rules.

I can only say that Adair and I are wholeheartedly driven by our genuine concern for Astraea, whom we know well. I also believe Astraea isn't quite prepared to keep a demon, as her condition for doing so is, “If I don’t like it, I can dismiss it... I have choices.”

I haven't stated that "demons are evil," as I personally keep several, including BA. However, it's important to avoid treating demons as inherently negative entities that should be controlled on a short leash or discarded at will. They deserve to be regarded with the same respect and consideration as any other beings you choose to keep.

While I have had positive experiences with my Demons, I cannot endorse the idea of keeping them simply for that reason. Each person’s journey with demons is very, very personal. Everyone should make their own choices, rather than being influenced by trends or the excitement of friends who may have embraced demon companionship. You shouldn't treat them as mere tools for purposes beyond friendship.

And if Keriix were to perform a demon conjuration for you @Astraea Selene, the demon would be returned. Soon. (Don’t ask how I know this, just trust me on it! Lol) When it comes to matters involving demons and demon keeping, there's always a wealth of diverse perspectives from various sources. This ongoing debate will never truly resolve. Lol.

The key takeaway is to prioritize what’s best for you, Astraea. It’s difficult for others to grasp why Adair and I opposed this idea without providing additional context, and I believe we don’t owe anyone an explanation. Our understanding of you has grown a lot over the years, and our intent was merely to offer some caution. Also, I didn’t mean to come across as obstructing Keriix’s business. Lol. I'm confident she will conjure someone wonderful for you. I truly hope you find a resolution to your problems.

Thank you @Tarvos for explaining it so well The only thing I will add is that I feel the same as Tarvos, my own experiences and perception are not that Demons are all "evil" and yes, they should not be treated as such. However, getting one is not in Astraea's best interest.

IT'S NOT CUT & DRY AT ALL. THERE'S GROUPS IN THE WORLD WHO WOULD CLASSIFY A GARGOYLE AS A "DEMON". HOW DEMONIC ARE WE TALKING? ARE WE TALKING SOMETHING LIKE A BUKAVAC? OR MORE LIKE A CHUPACABRA? WHAT TYPE/RACE/KIND OF DEMON ARE WE DISCUSSING?

This raises some confusion for me, CH offers things like Chupacabras and Gargoyles as spirit companions. Does this mean they are all BA or does it mean that individuals may vary. Also, I hate the term demon, it doesn't really explain much, unless its something like Zarasthusra said (sorry, not sure of the spelling of their name). I was going to say "he" as the energy felt masculine to me, the absolute surety that only testosterone can give.... well, I think so, sorry to anyone I offend saying that I just don't have it in me to be so bold to say some things about controlling black arts forces/beings. I think that the Goetic spirits can be nice enough but it really probably is down to your energy as to what you get too. Maybe.... I am not sure really. Black arts I think is a no go for me generally speaking, unless someone really badly harmed a loved one.....

I think what ASH is saying is clear. I may have said the same in a recent post.

BA are BA. 'Demon' is a word that humans throw around.

Ignore what ignorant people tell us is demonic.

Take very seriously what very well informed people say is demonic and take great care to avoid anything that fits CH's definition of BA.

Some Christians will call almost any kind of non-human spirit evil or 'demonic'. They even say contact with human spirits is evil or of the devil. This kind of Christian claptrap is based on total ignorance. It's dogma. Belief. Not actually true.

Gargoyles are DA - just look in the CH Shop. They're actually quite light grey.

ASH - as you might know - is one of the two founders of Creepy Hollows and brought modern spirit keeping to the world via their original website.

He's not suggesting Gargoyles are BA .He's talking about how confusing it can be if we go by what ignorant people say about them.

Thanks Alaric, probably didn't read this properly. Had a bad night last night, didn't sleep too well. Had a visit from my new baba yaga in a vision and it was intense, then I couldn't sleep. I learnt a bit and was pretty chuffed she introduced herself so strongly but boy did it mess me up sleep wise.

Good to know that there are no BA spirits in CH shop. At least I can be assured I won't bring something home that I can't get along with.... Also, I agree about the whole over use of the word demon. Its really annoying and people don't even really know what a demon is! Not sure if I fully do but don't agree Goetic spirits are necessarily BA. Demons perhaps, but a lot of them were actually gods/goddesses. So, one man's god is another man's demon I guess?
