I read about a Vampire Tour, that is going to be organised this spring and thought about participating, but then I heard that they will perform/practise the Nosferatu Ritual on one of the nights and this made me nervous, as I had read that it is a ritual, that engages in a kind of blood magick. Does anybody know, what exactly is done during the Nosferatu Ritual? :@

Can you give a name of the Tour or group that's organising it? A 'Nosferatu ritual' could be just about anything. Plus blood magic can vary greatly. At its most ethical it doesn't involve harm or loss to any human or animal. And won't exploit newcomers. Donors would be volunteers.

At its worst it's just performance art or ego-fuelled exploitation.

If you're developing an interest in a group that describes itself as a Vampire group, you'd do well to research their background and history. There have been numerous groups in the US Vampire Community that I'm aware of. Not all have agreed or got on well with each other. Some may disapprove strongly of other groups.

I like Michelle Belanger's approach to psy vampirism. She's experienced in the field and I rate her as 100% genuine and ethical. That doesn't sound as glamourous as humans trying sanguine vampire practices though.

PS If your'e unsure about it, why take the risk? I'm not convinced humans attempting sanguine practices gets much further than being a subculture, like any other - extreme goth, perhaps.

Another thought: if they claim to be practising black magic, that's a red flag, in case they actually are.

Thank you, Alaric for your thoughts. It is Andreas Bathory from the Ordo Dracul, who is organizing the Vampire Tour.

Have you looked them up? A google search for 'white wolf ordo dracul' brings up an interesting wiki article on them. There appears to have been some drama between other vampire groups and this one. And it's described as being very hierarchical.

For me that's a potential red flag, as occult groups are known for being strewn with big ego leaders who seek to dominate others. But I'm only interested in psy vampirism anyway - the sort CH mentions.

They claim an ancient line of ancestry but that's disappointingly common with occult groups. The more impressive the claim the less likely it is to be true, it seems.

I have to add that I'm not one who identifies as Otherkin or as a Vampire. I think Ordo Dracul is one of those that's for people that do.

Searching for "Nosferatu Ritual" in Google returned this in the results. I have no idea if this is the ritual being referred to by the group, but its instructions say you should use any red fluid that symbolizes blood but NOT actual blood. That said, I have zero knowledge as to whether this is what they will be doing or not.

Ultimately, the best approach is to reach out to the group and ask yourself if actual blood is used in the ritual, and how. I would also note what Alaric has already said about red flags.
