Protection during readings?

Excuse any typos or general weirdness, I was thinking about this last night and I just woke up so I knew I had to ask!

Hello! So, I was planning on doing some oracle or rune (when I finally make some) readings for the site to get some practice reading for other people online, and because it's just fun :3 BUT, I was wondering, should I use any protection during it? When reading for other people I know what kind of protection I have to use, but I've never read for another person's deity or companion! I already have wards up, but I know that doesn't matter if you're actively inviting the entity in. Would just asking a companion to sit in and be a mediator work? Or should I do something else?

Also, I've never read for people online, so this should be quite the experience!

The rules of the forums do not allow anyone to read other people's companions, so the question cannot be answered. As long as you are not the original conjurer of the spirit/being/companion, you should not be offering readings for them (companion readings) because firstly, you don't know what binding protections are in place that are put forth by the original conjurer, and you can very well get yourself harmed doing that as there could be mechanisms and spells built in to prevent those kind of things from happening, along with mild to very harsh backlash to whoever tries, depending on what was set in place.

It is also not ethical as well, so I suggest that you not do this. By offering this kind of services (whether paid or free), you open yourself up to the potential of a lot of drama and scandal. Normal readings for a human person will be just fine, and as you mentioned, you already know what protection to use for reading for someone, so that is good.

Sorry didn't even finish reading your message before I panicked because I thought you were mad at me but okay, that makes sense! I've just seen other people do, like, shufflemancy and Oracle readings from other people's companions so I thought it would be okay! Mb!

I'm not mad at you, don't worry. Hopefully my message wasn't coming across as being mad at you, opps.

I'm just letting you know that forum rules don't allow readings of any kind (whether you use oracle, tarot, or just pure psychic abilities to glean their messages). Even if other members give permission, the forum disallows it, so you cannot offer those readings here. You can offer normal readings to the person themselves, but anything that is "your companion wants you to know xx / wants to tell you xxx / feels that xxx" cannot and should not be done.

Speaking of permission, sometimes it is not whether the person allows it or not. The conjuror they bought the companion from may have already put protections in place to prevent any form of reading, tampering etc, so it's redundant whether the keeper gives permission or not. That is why I said it is dangerous to do it, because as mentioned, some conjurers will put very harsh protections in place to prevent that, perhaps even with the use of Black Arts magic.

If you want to do it, those readings need to be on someplace else other than this forum. And the keeper should also know what type of binding protections are in place before they let you do a reading on their companions (on other places other than this forum).
