Based on the above links, these are the steps for sellers.

For new sellers
1) Before you start to advertise, contact CH Helpdesk
([email protected]) to apply for a buyer/seller account (purple username) OR for a seller only account (yellow username)

2) After getting that seller or buyer/seller account, please create a topic in Website/Marketplace Shop Introduction section of the forum, (you can find the section here viewforum.php?f=348 ). 3) Then you are free to advertise in the Seller Announcements section of the forum.

For existing sellers in CH
If your username did not appear to be yellow (seller account) or purple (buyer/seller account),this means you have to email CH to get your seller account status back. Email CH at, [email protected]

I know this is an older post but want to bump this one! I'm not a seller, but I do have a question, if someone wants to open their own shop, do they need their own website first? Or can they sell via CH's Forum?

For whom you are asking then?

The seller must have their own website/shopping platform account/social media seller page. Then they can advertise in the forum, after writing to CH support for a seller account.

I am asking for one of my coworkers, one of her customers is starting out doing spelled pieces, she is fairly new & right now is going by word of mouth, I don't think she has a website yet, she's not new to doing spelled pieces, she has been doing it for years, only new to being a seller!

Just to further clarify the moderator's response, no one can sell via the CH Forum. It is not set up to receive payments and customer data. It is important your friend use a reputable marketplace or website software, and payment methods be PCI compliant. The security of customer data is of the utmost importance and the Forum is just a social setting.

I don't know how much longer Etsy will be hosting supernatural content as there are rumbles echoing the gigantic eBay exodus again. However, platforms like that are recommended to safeguard customers and their information.

Thank you for adding to the clarification Magnolia! I'm sure my coworker can help her customer when it comes to payments, she has-or had-an Etsy shop so that I know where my coworker can help, I offered to help for when the time comes, she can get some ideas with getting noticed!
