A quick explanation again: I have not properly done the thirty day bonding time with some of my spirits. To correct this error, I am devoting a month to each one of them.

This month, it's my Omantu dragon. I got him from a temporary listing in which I used my psychic senses to determine which dragon egg I wanted. I picked the one I picked, and got an Omantu dragon as a result.

His name starts with Z. I am doing a lot of heavy spiritual work with my minifis and qilin this month, but my Gorgon Master Spirit suggested I also do the thirty day bonding with the Omantu. So I shall.

I first approached him today and asked him if he wouldn't mind being tasked as my personal bodyguard for a month, since he is a protective spirit. I was quite surprised by the response I got. His energy is strong, vibrant, and very intimidating. He said he would be honored to help me, and take his place at my side. I was expecting a more animal like telepathy, but he is quite capable of speech.

So, for the next month or so, I will be spending at least five minutes a day meditating with my Omantu dragon. I will report my experiences in this thread.

Wish me luck!

I have poked around the forum a bit, and I've now realized that I am probably the only one with an Omantu dragon. He is a rare spirit, apparently. I'm surprised.

So far he is very talkative and active. Very easy to perceive, especially in meditation. Much to my surprise, he seems to be a frugivore. I shared some apple cake with him the other night and he has not stopped raving about it. He also has asked for other sweet things - a bite of my freezer pop. I had to tell him no as I had already started eating it, but I'll get him another one later.

When I did ask him directly what his favorite offering might be, he said a piece of raw steak. I told him that might be awhile because of my finances.

He is unfailingly polite, with a deep, mellow voice. He is calm and pleasant. He looks an awful lot like a black komodo dragon. I asked him to stay in my bedroom this week since that's where I'm spending most of my time (I'm sick) and he has been lurking under my bed like a monster out of a horror movie. I think it's funny because he is actually very nice.

So I have decided, since Z is a protective spirit, that I'm going to do a lot of banishment and house cleansing and shielding etc this month. Just for practice, and to see if he can show off his abilities.

So far Z has been helping me with shielding meditations in the morning. I have refined my shields a little bit based on his advice. He said the one I had might make the energy feel a bit stagnant and it might be better to let the light through a bit more.

He's been helping me stay on task with remembering to do the Gnostic Pentagram ritual every morning. So far I am simply awful at it, but I'm hoping that with several weeks of practice I will eventually have it down pat. I don't have confidence right now but I think I will gain it as I go along.

Sometimes Z is a bit taken aback by just how noisy my household is. I have somewhere around 50 spirits, so there is a lot of chatter and it can be hard to concentrate on him during meditation because everyone else wants to talk! His telepathy is very strong though. Some of the strongest I've ever heard.

I asked Z what I should say in my next update. He said, "You should say that you are very generous." I have been giving him lots of offerings. I gave him the strawberry tops from my breakfast strawberries. I also managed, with some difficulty, to set aside some pieces of canned chicken for him without my family noticing. I had to wait until after everyone else had gone to bed.

I had a chocolate bar that he really liked the smell of, but I decided not to share it after I googled and found out that chocolate is poisonous to lizards too, not just dogs and cats.

He is an incredibly strong presence. I actually heard him moving around under the bed! He says it is his burrow and he is quite territorial about it now. He likes to be there during the day and doesn't come out 😂.

He is very social, just like the Omantu listing says. He is quite the chatterbox. I eventually had to ask him to leave me for a few hours as I was feeling overwhelmed.

He does have his own magic. I was burning a black candle for a protection spell and I heard him speak a phrase over it to enhance the spell!

He likes children. He asked if he could play with the neighborhood kids and I told him yes, so long as he doesn't tell them he's real. He came back a few hours later and told me one of them called him a dinosaur. 8))

I haven't heard from my Omantu dragon in a few days. Today, I finally managed to get his attention in meditation, and I found out that he has been distracted by... Hanging out in the living room binge watching season 50 of Survivor with my mom. He even quoted "outwit, outplay, outlast" at me. For activities tonight, we watched an episode of Star Trek (at his request) and then listened to the First Date episode of Welcome to Night Vale.

He likes human entertainment, apparently. The Star Trek episode was a murder mystery and he and I were both glued to the screen the entire time.

I think what it really boils down to is that he's social. Around here, TV time is family time.

He also has insisted that I am being silly by holding back from petting him. He insisted on scritchies. Petting a dragon seems odd, but he curls up on my stomach with me when I'm feeling ill, just like a cat. I think he likes being around his people and would just as happily sleep in a big pile with a dozen other lizards or humans. He has requested that we go sun basking together sometime. I'm still trying to figure out how to make that work.

I'm really enjoying reading your updates, so thank you for sharing them.

Most of the dragons in my keep are a chatty and social bunch and one of them, my silver dragon K, definitely cat-like in some of his behaviors, to the point where he will shift his form to that of a silver tabby cat. He was my first companion and in the early days he spent more time in the form of a cat than in his dragon form. He also likes taking on his cat form to sleep in the snuggle pile that the other feline shaped spirits in my keep form.

I'm really glad you're enjoying reading! And judging by your signature, you must know an awful lot more about dragons than I do. 35?! Wow!

I only have a few dragons and Z and my Asian Djinn are the only ones I've bonded with so far. It's been a learning experience.

Z is so sweet and such a chatterbox that I've considered getting two or three more Omantu dragons once I have more money. I feel like he would be happy in a little colony of highly telepathic dragons. I can't afford it right now though. He is also very helpful with protective magic! Right now, he gets along great with my keep.

He just yawned and said, "You are proud of me." This is true. I'm really happy to have him as a member of my spirit family. I would highly recommend Omantu dragons to beginner keepers, because he is extremely easy to perceive and very helpful.

My thirty days with him will be over with tomorrow. I'm planning on starting a thirty day thread with my blue dragon then.

It's 36 now as the most recent dragon arrival (a petschke dragon) was bound during the time between my two replies. I wouldn't say that I know more than you, I would say my knowledge is different to yours. I know the dragons in my keep, but that does not make me any type of authority on dragon spirits whatsoever. That's the realm of experts like Ash and Magnolia.

Oh I know that feeling, I wish to bring more dragon spirits home, but pennies are always tight so I have to limit what I spend, and take the time to think about who I am bringing home next, my justifications for it, and the feelings of my keep.

I'll have to take a closer look at Omantu dragons, because I am curious about them....along with so many other dragons.

I look forward to reading your blue dragon thread.
