I am considering getting a dragon.
I was wondering how has your dragon helped you?
What type of dragon is your favorite?

I absolutely love these questions. But the real answer to your question is. What are you feeling that you need the most, deep in your heart? Certain dragons can help with certain issues. Black dragons are for protection. (Though I recommend being more of an expert before handling one of those guys). Silver dragons I heard are real chatty and personable. Now for me? I only have two dragons, and I've only been a spirit keeping just shy over a year. So I still have so much more learning to do. But for me. My Xirax dragon has been the ultimate protector, he helps me feel safe, helps my anxiety issues. That sort of thing. He is also gentle. Has a real guiding way about him.

My wyvern on the other hand. He's what I like to call more of a diva. He doesn't sugar coat things. He also likes to protect me, but he is always telling me what I need to hear. Like that friend that tells you things that your denying yourself. He doesn't let me be blind to anything. He is also really great in helping me with my confidence.

Both are Dark Art. My wyvern is a lot more dark then my Xirax. But I can handle the energy pretty easily. It just depends on what you feel like you personally want and need. Just have some good house rules and things will go fine.

Now my personal recommendation? You want that strong protecting energy that a Black Dragon will bring.. without the drama of it? I definitely recommend working with a Xirax Dragon. I don't think enough people have really worked with them. So they are sort of slept on.

I have two dragons in my keep!

One of them is a butterfly dragon, and she is an absolute delight! According to mystic morning treasures (AKA Lisa) they are a type of white dragon. She really enjoys watching me play rhythm games, and she likes to listen to music with me! She's super nice and very bubbly! She likes watching movies as well!

I have another dragon, who's a divine black and gold hybrid dragon, who was conjured by the pagan shop online (AKA Billy) I haven't interacted with him as much, as he seems to have a lighter energy thats harder fod me to sense, but he's very kind! He likes to come with me when I go places, and he seems to like more tangy flavors of drinks! He's very protective and overall a nice guy!

Now that I yapped a bit, I would suggest going with whatever dragon calls to you most! You could also look at their abilities, if that helps! Gold dragons are AMAZING at magic, so if you would like some help with that, I would suggest going with one of them! If you want a friend to be around, and have fun with, I would highly suggest a butterfly dragon, as well as maybe a silver one (silver dragon added as a suggestion by my butterfly dragon N) but yeah! These are my experiences with the dragons that I'm friends with, but it's all up to you!

The first dragon spirit I ever interacted with was a small blue dragon that fitted into my palm, I was a child at a time, this spirit or 'imaginary friend' as they were called by others got me through years and years of bullying at school and loneliness at home. They were my only friend for many years. I don't know what happened to that spirit, and to be honest I don't remember a lot of my childhood, but there was a point where that spirit was no longer in my life but I can't recall the when or the why.

Fast forward to just over five years ago when I found CH and spirit keeping, the first spirit I chose to bring home was a very chatty, very social silver dragon that spends more time in the form of a silver tabby cat than in his actual dragon form. His presence started to fill the hole in my life that the little blue dragon spirit had left behind, a hole that I didn't realise was actually there, and so my spirit keeping journey really started...I thought I would only ever have a handful of spirits....I've ended up with a flight of dragons (they like being referred to as a flight of dragons) and a mixed group of other spirit friends in my keep.

Each dragon is unique and while the general information written about them is a good starting point to understand each type, you will always get outliers. I will use my black dragon B, as an example. He is a patient teacher, loyal guardian and fierce protector....but also a massive goofball when he wants to be, with a love of metal music and a passion for live gigs. My Storm dragon O, is an anchoring point of balance and calm in the chaos that is my day to day life. My Betelgeuse dragon A is wonderful for providing different/an outsider's perspectives on things. As much as I adore A, though I would not recommend Betelgeuse dragons to new keepers. My personal opinion, I would say that silver dragons are a good choice for a new keeper who is interested in working with dragons, but in the end the choice is yours to make. You want to look for a dragon that can help you with what you wish to achieve.

I must admit I've thought of my dragons, since they came, mainly as amazing companions who it's a privilege to know and have the company of. I know they have abilities and trust that they do help, somewhere in the mix of what my spirit family does. Occasionally I invite one to aid with a specific ability.

Typing this, I reminded myself that I got the quite recent CH Dragons book. I probably need to dust that off and continue working with it.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I will get a butterfly dragon because I want a dragon for communication, friendship and also a dragon who would share wisdom. Xirox also sounds great.

For me, they didn't help directly. They gave suggestions and cheer me up about the issues that they are professional with.
They are all kind but have their own ways.
Mine is blue dragon and Arios dragon.
They separate from my journey to walking their owns too.

Personally, I do love dragons and I have lots of dragons in my keep. It's something so special about them, only a dragon keeper knows and understand.

I do have dark and white art types, western, shifters, Chinese ect... all kinds of dragons. That is why the link shared by me.

When it's comes to personal favourites I don't have one. They are all equally loved for who they are, regardless of favorites.

Which one to start with ? It's hard to suggest. Since it's really you who will has to come up with your own choice regarding that. Maybe read upon the forum threads upon opening the link.
