Good day all!
Some years ago I saw a video about a young man who became blind. Due to this, he developed a clicking technique were he clicks with his tongue and listens to the echo being thrown back a him, to create a picture of the surroundings in his mind.
He creates such accurate pictures of the surroundings he can even drive a bicycle!
Basically he does the very same thing as bats do.
It is well known in medicine that if one of our senses/organs falls away, the brain would often start allocating parts that were used for the lost sense/organ to other senses/organs so they become better.
Another very interesting case I read about was a person, who went blind (like fully blind in the meaning the eyes do not work anymore at all). But he still said he could still see. The person only said he now sees "differently". E.g. when his mom was worried, due to him now being blind, he proved to her that he could still see by telling her 'look over there, there is a red car coming around the corner now'. So despite him being blind he could still see what type of motor vehicle it is and that the colour is red.
Unfortunately not too much was said about it.
My own explanation was that he doesn't use his eyes anymore, but views the world through his third eye. So he might rather see the world in energy, if you know what I mean. That's my best explanation, as it was clearly said he cannot see anything with his eyes anymore. But I cannot really be sure if I'm correct.
So I do wonder if it is possible, to see in our physical world with the third eye only, without using our normal eyes. Can anyone of you do it?
When you have your eyes closed can you still see the room/space around you, just in energy form? Or in any other way?
I'm asking because I was contemplating
the following thought experiment:
If a person was to wear a blindfold for many days, maybe even weeks or months, and was to train their third eye, could this lead to the third eye becoming stronger and "take over" normal "seeing" duty?
Or in other words, could a person see with only their third eye, without their physical eyes?
For me so far, I only see what my third eye sees, when I also have my physical eyes opened. Otherwise, I might sense there is something there, but I cannot see it.
But I really do wonder if other people with a more developed third eye can see what is going on around them via their third eye, even though their physical eyes are closed or don't receive input.
Can anyone of you see their surroundings with their physical eyes closed, only via their third eye, either in meditation or during normal "daily" experience?
If you can do that, what do you see?
Do you see everything made of light points?
Do you see colours at all? Or do you see energy waves? Or something else?
I'm wondering if it's possible... if similar to the echo location, the brain could somehow create a holistic picture of the surroundings through third eye input only, even though there is no physical picture input from the physical eyes.
I would like to put this to the test, but unless there is anybody who is able to see with their third eye, without the physical eyes, there probably isn't a point.
So can you see via your third eye with your physical eyes closed, or do you know of anyone who can do it?
Obviously, I'm not talking about anything going on whilst asleep (OBE etc.), but only about when a person is awake, as this post is about "sensing and seeing" this physical world, without the physical eyes.
I'm very interested in any potential experiences!
Use third eye without the physical eyes. How/when does it work?

Just my thoughts here.
Our mind/ brain can re-tune itself to build up a picture of our surroundings from seemingly subtle sensory impressions. Some would say that our subconscious is involved.
But equally our third eye is part of everything we do or experience. It may be misleading to think that our minds and our third eyes don't work together.
Maybe in scenarios like the ones you mention our whole system is at work.
And...we absolutely don't need to blindfold ourselves to train our third eye.
CH has many aids for this. Perhaps a shift in mindset will help too. To realise that we don't only acquire a third eye after we take a psychic development course, for example. It's not a forced, or unnatural thing. It's with us our whole lives.
Of course Third Eye vision can be helped.
In my case, I think it first 'opened' when I was a hippy and via TM. Then I did a third eye meditation twice daily for 10 years: over 1,750 hours.
But just like like it first happened with me, it can happen instantaneously - you can see your spirit companions.
We can even 'see' them with our minds eye, like the scenarios you've mentioned above.

I'm still quite wonky and all over the place with this, but yes, at my best I do see the room around me--if that is my focus. At this point I can 'see' someone walk into and through the room. More importantly, I can see my companions to an extent. They are still beings of energy, and the translation can be fuzzy--I don't really have anything in my brain to realize what I'm seeing, or something to compare it to, to best put it.
Imagine seeing fire for the very first time. It is ethereal, changing, in constant motion. Your eyes are forced to try and focus, but it changes so fast you can't. Same with my companions. Their shape fluctuates, has no distinct lines, can be almost fog-like, with colors ranging from their colorful energy hues to black and white. General features and familiarity with their energies gives me the identifiers (and the fact I usually call them so I know who to expect, lol).
It's still very much a work in progress, and these times are rare to be perfectly clear. I think you can also see the danger in working with unbounds. I really can't be sure what or who I'm dealing with, only the feeling of their energies and being empathic.
I also say 'if it's my focus', because using my third eye I can jump to other places and realms with my consciousness in tow--because really, who wants to see their same old room? I've been able to visit places I've never been, and then look them up on Google Maps and verify images from the area.
For a scary story, decades ago I met a man who went legally blind--yet still drove his car. In his words, his eyes only saw white when it was daylight, and black when it was night. Yet, he said he couldn't explain how, but he just 'knew' the road in front. He 'knew' what color the traffic lights were, and 'knew' where all the other traffic was.
No, I refused to ever get in a car with him, lol. Nice guy, but I'll be damned if I have that kind of faith.
And if I can do it, so can you. I''m nothing special, nor any svelte practitioner. Just a mind over matter application thingy really. That being said, I don't recommend doing something that could potentially harm your eyes to accomplish this. Training with a blindfold for short periods is great--weeks on end? No, don't harm your physical body or cause any of it to diminish--it isn't worth it.

As the replies before me,
I totally agree with both Alaric and Mcm442 answers. I am thinking of the same wavelength myself. It's the whole spirit body in us that is in function in my view and makes the most with our physical body including our mind to do these things.
I always had weak eyes sight and wore glasses all through my life since childhood. But I seem to be always been far more psychic (to my mums amazement) and using my 3rd eye beyond this realm upto the day.
I can imagine, that it can be developed visions to see when someone is blind. I don't see into the physical world though myself, but I can easily see through the dimensions with my eyes open as well.
So it's not exactly what you are talking here.
More so vice versa, in my case. My 3rd eye that I actually never developed via meditations, nor mantras, seem to make up for my weak eyes to see beyond the obvious via my conciousness.

As adults it's harder for us to train our third eye although not impossible compared to children, who are still connected and not programmed like adults are (generally speaking).
There was a school in the UK for children to develop and maintain the third eye, throughout their entire school day they would wear blindfolds the entire day. Kids would read books, play sports, art, etc. while blindfolded. Not sure if that school is still open, looks like many other similar schools have opened up over the world since then.
As for myself, I use to be able to see through my third eye as a kid. Adulting and not having free time to nurture my third eye, I had lost the third eye connection.

What interesting responses so far, thank you all
@mcm442, I would have loved to hear your story about how you were sweating blood once, when you drove with a blind person
@Anahata, interesting, I will look that up in more detail, when I have more time.

People's experiences do differ.
I think it is possible to develop the third eye at any age, generally speaking. I look back now and I think I see where my third eye vision was at work when young.
But between the ages of 18-31 were the years when my third eye seemed to be very active. I did meditate at least 2 hours a day. Sometimes 6 hours or more. My life was centered around it.
In my daily meditation I'd often see very tangibly real, warm and amazingly bright inner light with eyes closed during the Third Eye meditation.
I meditated in the dark, under a blanket or sheet. Not quite a blindfold.
A perfect circle of pure white light at the centre of total blackness. A white and black checkerboard pattern, vividly real. These things were more real than the external world around me. Many times it was exploding suns of liquid golden light emanating from a central point. Merging with the inner light. The room filled with bright white light. Glowing light around other people.
This was between the ages of 18-22. So don't give up hope.

"Use third eye without the physical eyes. How/when does it work?"
Actually, I think many would say third eye vision is like inner vision. There's the third eye chakra. And the Taoist Sky Eye acupoint between the eyebrows. In Aikido a centrepoint on the forehead is used (Koichi Tohei's style). Meditation points for third eye meditation can be simply be between the eyebrows, just above where they meet. The third eye chakra is roughly around there but is commonly seen as being part of the non physical subtle body in which all the chakras and nadi (energy channels) are said to be located.
Ultimately, even if the external physical location is used as a reference point for third eye meditation, it's really the inner vision that's key - which can also lead to perceiving non-physical light around you with eyes open.
There are also some approaches where the centre of the head - midway between the forehead and the back of the skull and just below the top of the head (centre of a line drawn from the tip of one ear to another) - is a place where inner light can be perceived. This is a place to centre one's awareness in psychic development taught in line with Lewis Bostwick of the former Berkeley Psychic Institute's methods.
That centre of the head space also relates to the pineal gland.
The late Stephen Russell aka The Barefoot Doctor, a modern Taoist, called the centre of the head space the Cave of the Original Spirit.
My emphasis would be to think of inner sight or third eye sight as distinct and separate from the external world. But once you can access it, you can perceive light or 'see' what appears to be external to you and your body. But that's still an internal sense.
Sitting in darkness can help at the beginning as it enables a meditator to distinguish what they see 'internally' from their external sense of sight.
I thought it might be useful to mention this. But ultimately it's what works for each one of us that's important.

Final point: With the insights of modern neurobiology I would say it can also be said that our human neurological systems are set up in such a way that it's completely natural to see what gets classified as non physical light, images or scenes around us.
Basically our brain interprets what arrives via the input from our senses.
There seems to be a light field available to our neurological set up. Have you ever sat in a lecture for example, head still for a long time watching the speaker there at the front on the stage, with a blank screen above them , or things on the wall either side. Then you move your head and you see shapes of light the same shape as those objects move as you move your head?
We can probably get this just by staring at something for a long time then move our head.
From a neurological perspective when we see inner light or 'spiritual' light around us , our neurological system is using that facility too.
The problem is modern science doesn't believe in a psychic or paranormal aspect to the Universe. So that will be used to explain away/ invalidate people's experiences, whereas I would say it explains how that happens...ie the glass is half full, not half empty.
As I've said before, I believe there's scientifically valid proof of psi and the reality of human paranormal experiences. So I don't see science as being contradictory to the spiritual. It's just the scientists that are set in opposition to that way of understanding how the Universe works - many of them.

Weirdly enough I have done this lol. I actually have done this as a form of energy work. I have blocked myself off for a bit of time to "be normal". When I finally realized this path was for me I kind of went wild with energy work. Which will mostly be my answer is that even if you can't see auras you can feel them, or in some cases hear the frequency of something. When I was a teenager I use to purposely blindfold myself at friends houses to see if basically I could see. If you do it at the same house memory will play a role in this so. I called it chicken...I have no idea why. I also use to try and guess what crystals or playing card was in a friends hand. Everything has energy which in term means it also has an energy field. As for the guy who does echolocation it's the same, but he uses sound frequency instead of auric. I could navigate fairly well blind. Although certain objects were harder or easier to find or notice. TVs were fairly easy because they would generate heat. The older the TV the more heated it generated. If the TV was off for a while it would be harder but not by much. When I would do the crystal test. If a crystal was recently cleansed I couldn't for the life of me get the crystal. Plastic anything my god super hard but only if it was all plastic. My friend would have a hard time with mirrors. I personally did not but that's a story for another time. Anyways, what would I see? It would mostly be like flashes of things. Like oh this is a wooden table because a flash of wood and a shape of a table would come. Sometimes sound frequency would also work for me. I have a weird thing with tvs so even if they were off when I would walk by them I would hear static for some reason. I don't remember how long my friends and I did this. I thought it would be a cool way to learn the world in a more energetic way. Some friends knew that's what I was doing some didn't and just thought it was a crazy game lol. As far as the guy you're talking about. I have watched that too by the way I was obsessed with things like that. There's this one where a kid reincarnated and remembers a lot of details and was able to see his sister from that past life and she believed him because of how he knew so much. Sorry off topic anyways, he basically uses sound frequency to see. When you "lack" something your brain basically makes up for it. So when he uses echolocation it's not just how he hears the world it's also how he sees. Hopefully this was helpful and I answered your question. I was a bit all over the place because I was remembering when I was young lol.
