From what I understand, living entities have their own lives and their own things to do in their realms, so they may not always be able to come when you call them. But at the same time, don’t spirits have their own lives and things to do as well? Yes, technically they’re already “dead,” but I’ve also heard that they still keep themselves busy, can have responsibilities of their own and yet are supposedly able to devote more time to their keeper than living entities can. So I’m still not completely sure how that works in practice.
For example, if I call one of my living entity companions while they’re busy, do they simply not come? And what if I still can’t properly see, hear or clearly sense my companions yet? Does that mean I could sit there for 20 minutes talking into empty space, thinking we’re spending time together and bonding, while in reality they’re somewhere else doing their own thing and never came at all — and I wouldn’t even know?
And what if I somehow keep calling them at times when they happen to be busy? Would we just constantly miss each other and barely ever manage to interact properly? Because of that, I’ve also started wondering whether spirits are generally easier or better to keep as companions than living entities, especially for a beginner who still can’t reliably tell whether their companion is actually present.
I’m also a little confused about the whole “living” vs. “dead” distinction itself.
If a living entity eventually dies and becomes a spirit, what exactly changes for them? Do they simply stop aging and physically growing? Do they also stop developing, learning, gaining new experience and improving their abilities? Because at the same time, I’ve heard the complete opposite — that spirits can still continue developing, learning and even keep doing the same kinds of things they were doing before death. So if both living entities and spirits can continue developing, have their own things to do, responsibilities and so on, why is there such a strong distinction between living entities and spirits in the first place? What is the actual practical difference between the two from a keeper’s point of view?
I also wanted to ask about Royal spirits/entities — Kings, Queens, Princes and so on.
What actually makes them different from ordinary members of their race? Is the difference mainly their status and the fact that they have more responsibilities — for example, their own kingdom or realm, court, subjects, leadership duties and other obligations? Or is there something else that makes a Royal companion different?
And if a Royal companion is also a living entity, wouldn’t it be extremely difficult to regularly communicate with them?
So… I’d be really grateful if someone could explain all of this in detail, because at this point I feel like the more I read, the more confused I get instead of actually finding clear answers.
