Male/Female: Male
Number of Spirits: 15
Spelled Number: 15
Your favorite spirit to work with: Deerfolk LE
If I could be anything, I would be...: Unhindered
My super power would be...: See spirits in true form
Zodiac:

Wondering about just how appropriate this would be? I'm getting a binding done for an unbound Red Dragon around me soon, and I've been thinking about preparations for him. I haven't really spoken to him yet, but I've been given the strong impression that he has been eyeing up a 'hoard' of coins I've collected over the years that I keep in my safe, lol. (It also has firearms in it.)

It kinda seems appropriate logically to make him a den right there, I mean, it is a secure 'mountain', but...

Any dragon keepers out there have any input into this? What's your companions opinions on it?

I too have an unbound red dragon. I'm getting the impression that she's drooling over your setup. I think she's a bit jealous. I've learned to follow my friends' lead as to what they want because they're individuals.

Good luck with your red dragon!

I suggest dividing the coin collection, as you may encounter more companions in the future who are drawn to such shiny objects, thereby making the coins useful once again. My own companions concur and recommend providing him with no more than 8-10 coins, and establishing a den in another location.

We typically do not utilize coins here. Upon discovering that others have offered coins to their dragons or spirits associated with wealth, I considered having the coins I've amassed during my travels sent to me. However, I soon realized that we had developed an alternative far superior to mere coins. Thus, there's no demand for coins in our practice. Even for companions initially insistent on coins upon arrival, I only oblige on their first day. The following day, I introduce them to an alternative better suited to their race, which invariably leads them to forsake the coins.

Ultimately, it is the intention behind the gesture that holds significance, not necessarily the presence of coins. Even a coinless den is met with appreciation if the sentiment is genuine. I'm sure he'll love it!

As another keeper with more dragon spirits than any other type, I've never used coins as offerings or to form part of a dragon's den. I've also never had any of my spirits ask for coins. I will also add that I do not currently have a red dragon in my keep so can't speak about living and working with reds.

My dragon friends have an enormous bowl full of sea glass that I have collected over the years from beach combing combined with some sea glass I purchased a while ago to use in vases with flowers. This keeps them happy; they also enjoy helping me find sea glass to add to the growing collection when I go on beach walks.

What I also have, is a substantial collection of mineral specimens that I've been collecting all my life, this is my treasure hoard so to speak. I have found that my spirit friends being allowed access to these minerals keeps them happy as well, and not just the dragons. It's sharing with them something that I value and means a lot to me, something that holds more meaning than its material value and that is worth more than coins.
