Working through grief:
I took my cat to the emergency vet late last night & I’ve decided to put my cat down as I didn’t want her to suffer anymore & put her more through rigorous tests. I requested my spirit partners and my bronwyn angel to be by my side and I’ve asked a special favor for my bronwyn angel to help my cat cross the rainbow bridge safely.
I told my spirit family once I get my cat ashes back that I like to hold a special memorial for her and scatter her ashes in a park.
I apologize to the young black dragon who happens to be my cat’s guardian that I had to come to this difficult decision.
How do you work through this grieving period with the spirit family? I felt really awkward and broken about this whole process. My cat was my partner and she was there with me during and after my difficult separation.
Thank you for reading.

I recently lost someone in my family too, and I had a spirit assigned to watch over that person. Said spirit has now been reassigned to help someone else, for now.
Your spirits are going to understand what you're going through. Mine have been very close and supportive through the whole thing. They've also been extremely forgiving when I've lost my temper with them (because I was in a bad mood because of what happened). Think of them like close friends who can be there as a shoulder for you to cry on. You can talk to them if you need to, and they can help you work through what you're thinking and feeling. Don't just pretend everything is okay; they can deal with your real emotions.
Another thing that I find helps is smoky quartz, which can help you channel difficult feelings and find peace with them. In the past, I have set a smoky quartz on top of my journal while I was writing, and then written about the difficult things. You could also dedicate specific journal entries as a "letter" to either an emotion or memory, or to a spirit.
I had to ask my Amarok to help me sleep, which he did. If you have a spirit that makes you feel better, it is good to ask them for that.

Had to make the same choice as you mystlady, and it can be a heartbreaking one. Your spirit family will more the understand what you're going thru and be there for you throughout the process, which is a unique path for everyone. Like stargazer said, don't be afraid of your real emotions around the whole process nor feel the need to hide or surpress it.
I'm sorry for your loss

I am truly so sorry of your loss. A beloved cat that has been with you through thick and thin... does create an empty space within...painful loss.
I really can't tell you what to do. I feel that you are in wonderful hands with your own companions. As it was said before...let grief take its course... give it time... and mourn. Accomplish this part of time of your journey well. It'll be an important and rewarding experience for your journey later in time. Your cat maybe passed... But don't be surprised, if he /she will comes back in spirit to guide you.
