Aitvaras Spirit Companion
Aitvaras Spirit Companion

Aitvaras are household spirits whose origins can be traced to Lithuania in written history. Aitvaras can appear as either a white or black rooster with a fiery tail. They hatch from an egg of a rooster 9-12 years old. They appear as a rooster while in the home and as a Dragon when outside of the house. Once they are adopted into a home they refuse to leave.

They bring both good and bad luck to the household, but only the bad if mistreated.  Aitvaras are extremely loyal and dutiful companions who have an extensive connection within the 3 Realms, from which they call their transformation abilities.

They are seemingly gentle and kind when they are in the home – roaming around and behaving just like a rooster in most cases.  If they are mistreated, or upset, the occupants of the home could clearly see the change in their demeanor.  They would become clearly more than just a rooster and they would bring bad luck in a myriad of forms.  Outside of the home, they appear as a Dragon (typically with white scales, black scales, or both), and usually around 2′-3′ in length.

They are territorial and not afraid to stand their ground when it comes to facing a foe.  If they suspect someone in the home is not of good character, or a trouble-maker, they make their warning known to the home-owners.  They are also highly-observant when it comes to eyeing opportunities for good fortune.  They like a happy home and when they are content, they bring a flow of good energies and good luck.  They can manifest uplifting and positive changes – revealing paths that may not have been available or apparent before.

As spirit companions they have a unique energy field that is surprisingly Dark Arts with a silver lining. The good luck they attract is usually spontaneous and related to something you really want in your life. They can bring paths of good luck related to little things in life to sweeping & significant changes. They are extremely loyal and when they are part of your spirit family they look out for the best interest of everyone.  They are protective of the home against unbound malicious sources, and they are often quite intimidating in spirit form as they can appear as a rooster or Dragon to any other spirit or entity.  They will help you understand and appreciate the ties and bonds between the 3 Realms and how they link together in terms of manifestation, power, and destiny.

 Secret to Keeping

These Dark Arts secrets were previously not known outside of family and Creepy Hollows Keepers. They are secrets discovered by Ash. When you are working with any Dark Arts spirit (bound or unbound) there are times when you need the ability to make house rules clear for all. While Dark Arts spirit companions who have agreed to engage in Spirit Keeping are not malicious their intense energy and presence can sometimes be overwhelming. In these cases, we recommend using this method to create an atmosphere of balance.

Aitvaras do not like to be near chicken yolk.  If the binding for the Aitvaras is bound to your spirit or your Master Vessel, have a bowl with chicken yolk by your bed while you sleep and it can be disposed of in the morning. This is a symbolic act of exerting house rules.
