The Boggart is a family companion who can be as wildly entertaining & bizarre as they are protective & swift in their aid. They are considered household spirits as they are documented primarily in dwellings and rarely in the wild. They like to play innocent (albeit annoying) pranks such as making things disappear, malfunction, and go haywire.
Their pranks aren’t deadly or cause any real harm but they can become tediously annoying if you don’t set down some house rules.
A Boggart becomes loyal to a family, not a home, and they follow their family wherever they go. No matter where you are your Boggart is with you. NEVER give your Boggart a name as this angers them and calming a Boggart can be a very lengthy and problematic issue.

Secret to Keeping
These Dark Arts secrets were previously not known outside of family and Creepy Hollows Keepers. They are secrets discovered by Ash. When you are working with any Dark Arts spirit (bound or unbound) there are times when you need the ability to make house rules clear for all. While Dark Arts spirit companions who have agreed to engage in Spirit Keeping are not malicious their intense energy and presence can sometimes be overwhelming. In these cases, we recommend using this method to create an atmosphere of balance.
Place the binding of your Boggart in a dark enclosure (pitch black is best) for at least 12 hours, to subdue the energy.
This is a symbolic act of exerting house rules.
