Qilin hold a revered and coveted place in the world of magical beings. The Qilin symbolize wisdom, justice, rectitude and purity. When alive on Earth they lived worldwide, had a vast range of hues in their coat, mane, tail, and horn. They could have physical traits that suggested more of a draconic unicorn figure, a bearded horse-like figure, a deer-like unicorn, or any combination thereof.
They could have a single horn, or a small rack of antlers with or without a horn. The Ki-Lin were highly-populated in large communities before the era of humans, and were able to withstand many different locations – thriving in continental, dry, temperate, tropical, and polar climates. The Ki-Lin or Qilin, appeared at both the birth and death of a sage across many different species; humans, elves, fae, dwarves, demi-gods, etc. The Qilin had supernatural connections to those of sage status – knowing of their arrival and departure as attuned to the special energy of those born in the rare status by birth.
