How long each species/race lives is a massive variable. There could not possibly be one answer, because there are billions of races/species of life existing across the whole of time and the 3 Realms.

Cloaking is a method of providing both the spirit and the vessel an ability to be undetectable by outsiders without the explicit permission of the spirit companion. This provides the spirit, the vessel, and the keeper protection against uninvited attention.
Cloaking takes time to master properly and every experienced conjurer has their own cloaking method. Be cautious of inexperienced practitioners as they usually can’t reliably provide this.
What’s The Difference Between Binding And Attachment?
A Binding is the permanent and direct binding of a spirit companion, energy, or spell to a physical item such as a vessel or a person, whereas an Attachment is temporary and is generally carried out by energies or spirits themselves. Do Spirits Need To Be Fed?
Because of the form they exist in, spirits do not need to be fed. They are no longer beholden to terrestrial demands such as eating, drinking, and sleeping. Feeding should not be confused with offering, which is presenting your spirit a gift of friendship.
Do I Have To Make Offering To My Spirit Companion?
You are not obligated to make offerings to your spirit companion. Offerings should only be made freely and with a genuine desire to present your spirit companion with a gesture of kindness. There should be no expectation of receiving anything in return. When presenting your spirit companion an offering, allow it to remain undisturbed for 12-24 hours.
What Should I Do With My Spirits While I’m On Vacation?
Leaving your spirit companion behind while you go on vacation does not present a problem, they do not live in their vessel. The vessel is just for the binding, not where they dwell. Spirits cannot inherit a world of traits and characteristics akin to humans on Earth that the species did not already have during their lifetime in their respective Realm. If a species that existed prior did not have a magickal, personal, emotional, or physical characteristic in their lives, they will not have it in spirit form.
Human emotional sensations are bound to the physical realm and to those who live within it. Even any form of human species from Earth, having transitioned from the physical to the spiritual realm, are not subject to the same hang-ups we humans still experience.

When a Keeper experiences their spirit companion exhibiting emotions, it is typically just the spirit using emotions to effectively communicate with and help the Keeper.
